Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Advocates For Measles–Rubella Vaccination Exercise

The Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Omo’ba Hameed Olalean Aroyewun, has advocated for the vaccination of eligible children in the ongoing Measles–Rubella Vaccination Exercise.

In a statement today by the Chairman, the council said that the exercise is aimed at preventing diseases and promoting healthy living.

The exercise, which commenced Tuesday, January 27th, at Igbogbo Primary Health Centre (PHC), Igbogbo, will see to the immunisation of children between aged 9 months and 14 years. It also includes routine immunisation for children aged 0–23 months and HPV vaccination for 9-year-old girl children.

“Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area is pleased to announce the Measles–Rubella Vaccination Exercise aimed at safeguarding our children against preventable diseases and promoting a healthier future for all.

“This important immunisation exercise covers children from 9 months to 14 years, including routine immunisation for children aged 0–23 months, and HPV vaccination for 9-year-old girl children. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to protect their children and strengthen community health.

“The vaccination will take place at Igbogbo Primary Health Centre, Igbogbo, from 27th January to 5th February, 2026. Let us work together to keep our children safe, healthy, and thriving, because prevention is always better than cure. Protecting the health of our children is a shared responsibility, and we are fully committed to ensuring no child is left behind”, Omo’ba Aroyewun urged.
